I love it when you’re like this.

  1. Hi JIMBO,

I will be Traveling to Los Angeles the week of Thanksgiving. And I am looking for “non-touristy” things to do/eat while I am there. Do you have any suggestions?

    1. Hi Kandriot!

It’s great that you’re visiting! There are lots of non-touristy spots, but L.A. isn’t like say Manhattan or San Francisco, which are really walker-friendly cities and easy to navigate. The terrain is vast and spread out here, so more often than not it’s helpful to have a car if you want to see all the different places which make up the town. That said, there are quite a few major spots that are accessible whether you’re driving or not. In particular, I really like the Little Tokyo, Koreatown, Boyle Heights, Los Feliz, and Pasadena areas.

Each of these places offer a great foray into life in L.A with their own distinct flavors, are rather accessible by train or car, and provide relatively good opportunities for walking and sightseeing. If you’re visiting with friends or family it’s even easier to get lost in them, which is ultimately what you want to do! </:D
